New 96.9 Urban Adult Contemporary R&B station on in Raleigh – Durham N.C. WBZJ
How much does it cost to advertise on the new 96.9 Urban Adult Contemporary R&B station on in Raleigh – Durham N.C? Who knows? If you haven’t heard talk in the Triangle about a new urban radio station, you might need to put down the ipod or pandora and turn into the old fashion terrestrial formatted radio stations. The call letters are WBZJ (96.9 FM) is an urban adult contemporary radio station licensed to Goldsboro, North Carolina, which is east of the Raleigh-Durham Triangle. The station is owned by Curtis Media Group. WBZJ 96.9 currently broadcast the syndicated Steve Harvey Show mornings from 6a – 10am. No PD is yet to be named. No word on General Sales Manager (GSM) either.
This station is expected to compete for advertising dollars with both heritages Urban Contemporary stations, Urban AC WFXC / WFXK Foxy 107/104 and Urban WQOK K97.5 currently owned by Radio One Inc. It’s too early to tell which station is going to win out in the ratings, but you can expect the management of Curtis Media have done due research in making the decision to go after advertising revenue from local and national advertisers that are looking to buy radio advertising targeting the African American urban audience in the Raleigh – Durham Market.
I am in the process of getting a rate card to determine the cost of advertising on 96.9 WBZJ. If you know and / or interested in learning the cost of advertising on both either stations. Let me know I’m interested finding out.
